Embracing ancient tradition with Dragon’s Blood
As we prepare to welcome Chinese New Year 2024, we at Floré Canadian Incense are thrilled to introduce our latest creation - Dragon’s Blood incense sticks. This launch is particularly special as it coincides with a time of renewal and celebration for the upcoming Year of the Wood Dragon.
Our choice to use Dragon's Blood, extracted from a resin known for its rich and complex aroma and blood red colour, was a nod to both customer requests and ancient traditions.
Dragon’s Blood resin has been used for centuries in rituals and ceremonies, believed to cleanse negative energy and bring protection, or to simply be enjoyed for its distinct fragrance.
The mystical journey of Dragon’s Blood
The journey to create our Dragon’s Blood incense was an odyssey in itself. We were not familiar with the fragrance personally, so we explored many variations of Dragon’s Blood incense on the market.
While each was slightly different, all had a very distinct fragrance we felt we had certainly encountered before and knew we could recreate.
To create our incense, we experimented with various takes on the familiar fragrance of Dragon’s Blood, seeking a scent that would resonate with the new year's energy.
The dragon, a symbol of power and good fortune in Chinese culture inspired us to blend an incense that is both potent and auspicious.
A fusion of exotic aromas
Creating a blend that encapsulates the essence of Dragon’s Blood while remaining true to our brand's ethos was a challenge we relished. We wanted to capture the traditional resin's familiar musky notes with hints of spice, creating a powerful and seductive scent.
